Propagate Like a Pro

Our speaker for the October 20th meeting will be Burling Leong of Burlington Rose Nursery. Burling will be teaching us how she propagates roses, and how we can do it too. Propagating roses is a great way to expand your enjoyment of the hobby, share your favorites with friends, and support the Peninsula Rose Society by growing plants for the annual fund-raiser.

Burling has been involved in the rose business for over 35 years. She currently manages all aspects of Burlington Rose Nursery operations, including propagation, hybridization of new roses, and conducting nursery tours for garden clubs and rose societies. Her rose projects include restoration of the rose garden at Hearst Castle and Will Rogers State Park, propagation of ramblers and roses of New York’s Brooklyn Botanic Garden, tree rose Standards at California’s Rancho Los Alamitos Park, and providing OGRs (old garden roses) to Rancho El Cerrito in Long Beach.
