April! Spring is here and with it in my microclimate there are a few blooms. By the end of the month it will be a riot of color. At least we received a bit of rain in March, but it still is shaping up to be a dry year, possibly with some water rationing.
While our annual show May 6 is for fun, and to show off roses to the public, it is not a judged show. In the past we had judged shows and a really spectacular set of trophies (lots of them). I want to acknowledge the work on the show setup and trophy table over many years by Vic and Elaine Kristen and Annette Perot helped for many of those years. After Vic passed away and Elaine was no longer able to manage the trophies, Annette Perot took this on. And the last few years she stored the trophies. But the trophies have moved, and I think we all owe a thank you to Annette. I will be storing trophies and hope that our next show will be a judged show. Until then they will be safe in large plastic containers. THANK YOU, ANNETTE!
Happy gardening
